Georgia Amber Alert Issued For Missing 9-Year-Old Girl...
An Amber Alert was activated across Georgia early Tuesday morning after a 9-year-old girl was reported missing from her home in Cobb County. Authorities believe the child, identified as Emma Carter, may have been abducted by an unknown suspect.
The alert was issued just after 3:30 a.m. by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Police say Emma was last seen wearing pink pajamas at her residence near Marietta. Neighbors reported hearing a disturbance around the time of her disappearance.
Cobb County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Daniel Reeves stated, “We’re treating this as an active abduction case. Every minute counts.” A statewide search is underway, with law enforcement coordinating with neighboring states.
The case has sparked widespread concern on social media, with #FindEmma trending nationally. Georgia residents are being urged to check security cameras and report any suspicious activity. The FBI has joined the investigation.
Emma’s family pleaded for her safe return during an emotional press conference Tuesday afternoon. “Please, if anyone has seen our daughter, call the police immediately,” her father said while fighting back tears.
Authorities are searching for a dark-colored SUV seen in the area around the time of the disappearance. The vehicle may have out-of-state license plates. Roadblocks have been set up along major highways.
This marks Georgia’s third Amber Alert this year. The case is drawing particular attention due to similarities to recent child abduction cases in neighboring states. Community volunteers have organized search parties in the Marietta area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office at (770) 499-3900 or dial 911. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has also activated its resources to assist in the search.
