Powerball Jackpot Soars To $750 Million As Players Rush For Tickets...

The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $750 million ahead of Monday night's drawing, sparking a nationwide frenzy for tickets. The massive prize, the ninth-largest in Powerball history, comes after no one matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing.

Lottery officials confirmed the jackpot grew from $675 million due to strong ticket sales over the weekend. The cash option stands at $350.5 million before taxes. The winning numbers for Saturday, April 11 were 12-23-44-57-61 with Powerball 5.

This marks the 36th consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner since the last top prize was claimed on January 1. The current jackpot run began when a Michigan player won $842 million on New Year's Day.

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings occur every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET in Tallahassee, Florida.

The jackpot is trending nationally as Americans dream of financial freedom amid ongoing economic concerns. Gas stations and convenience stores across the country reported long lines Sunday as players hoped to beat the 1 in 292.2 million odds.

If won, the $750 million prize would be the largest Powerball jackpot since November 2022. Winners can choose between annuity payments over 29 years or a lump-sum cash payment. All prizes are subject to federal and state taxes.

Lottery analysts note jackpots typically surge in spring as more people play during warmer weather. The current run could potentially challenge Powerball's record $2.04 billion prize from November 2022 if no one wins Monday night.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. Players select five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. The game's odds remain the same regardless of jackpot size.

Monday's drawing will be broadcast live and streamed on official lottery websites. Winners have between 90 days and one year to claim prizes, depending on the state where the ticket was purchased.
