Coachella Attendees Injured After Stage Lighting Collapse...

At least five concertgoers were injured when a section of stage lighting collapsed during the second weekend of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Saturday evening. The incident occurred around 8:45 PM PDT during a performance by electronic artist Fred again.. at the Outdoor Theatre stage.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud crack before seeing metal scaffolding and lighting equipment fall toward the crowd. Festival medical staff responded immediately, treating three people for minor injuries on-site and transporting two others to nearby JFK Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"We're working closely with local authorities to investigate the cause of this incident," said Goldenvoice spokesperson Miranda Nichols in a statement released shortly after midnight. "The safety of our artists, staff and attendees remains our top priority."

The festival continued without interruption on other stages, though some attendees expressed concerns about structural safety. This marks the first major safety incident at Coachella since 2017, when high winds forced temporary evacuations.

Social media footage shows the moment the lights fell, with many concertgoers praising the quick response of security teams. The incident comes as Coachella faces increased scrutiny over crowd control measures following last year's fatal crowd surge at Astroworld Festival.

California OSHA officials have been notified and are expected to inspect the stage structure Sunday morning. Weekend two of Coachella continues through Sunday night with headliners Lana Del Rey and Tyler, The Creator still scheduled to perform.
